Cultural heritage conservation in the Asia-pacific Region under the background of large scale urbanization

根据联合国及世界银行城市发展报告，亚太地区是未来30 年全球城市化发展最快的地区，至2050 年，将有24 亿乡村人口涌入城市。亚洲的城市化将彻底改变世界社会、经济、文化与城市的格局，城市规划设计与遗产保护的理论也因此会发生巨大的变化。
亚太地区是人类文明的重要发源地之一，在漫长的历史中，本地区1000 余个民族共同建造了3000 余座历史城市，留下了无数宝贵的建筑遗产。在急速和大规模城市化过程中，如何保护并发展亚洲的城市与建筑遗产，是亚洲各国面临的严峻而长期的挑战。
According to the urban development reports of the United Nations and the World Bank, the Asia-Pacific region will have the fastest rate of urbanization in the next 30 years in the world. By 2050, around 2.4 billion rural population will flow into cities in the region. Asia's urbanization will thoroughly re-shape the world's social, economic, and urban structure, and the theories of urban planning and heritage conservation will also change dramatically.
The Asia-Pacific region is one of the important birthplaces of human civilization. In the long history, more than 1000 ethnic groups in the region have built more than 3000 historical cities, and handed down numerous valuable architectural heritages. In the process of rapid and massive urbanization, how to protect and develop Asian urban and architectural heritage is a serious and long-term challenge for Asian countries.
