Research direction: urban planning design and theory

Xiong Guoping, director of the Land and Space Planning and Design Research Center of Southeast University Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Innovation Institute, member of the Academic Committee of Urban and Rural Planning Implementation of the Urban Planning Society of China, Council of the Nanjing Western Returned Scholars Association, Editorial Board of the Journal of Urban and Rural Planning, Editorial Board of the Journal of Marine Development and Management, Editorial Board of the Journal of Modern Urban Research. Since 2008, he has taught in the School of Architecture of Southeast University, where he has lectured on Urban and Rural Planning and Design, Urban Planning Management and Regulations, Progress of Regulatory Detailed Planning, Metropolis planning theory and practice, etc. He once was a visiting scholars of University of Pennsylvania. And worked at Jiangsu Urban Planning and Design Institute;as the Deputy Director of Kunming Planning Bureau.

The main research direction is urban planning design and theory. He presided over more than 100 planning and design projects. The project he presided over won the first prize of the Ministry of Construction, one national silver prize, one second prize of the Ministry, three first prizes of the province, two second prizes of the province, and ten third prizes of the province. As the first author, he has published over 50 papers in both Chinese and English, 7 papers were published in SCI and the most advanced journals of architecture, and more than 10 papers were awarded. He chaired one project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one project of the National Science and Technology Support Program, one project of the Special Research Fund for Doctoral Programs of Higher Education, one project of the Science and Technology Support Program of Jiangsu Province, two projects of the Social Science Research Project of Jiangsu Province, one key project of the Collaborative Innovation Center for the Inheritance and Development of Tibetan Culture, and three authorized domestic invention patents. As the first author, he has published 8 Chinese works and 1 translation; teaching Paper Award One excellent paper of the National Urban and Rural Planning Special Committee, one of the completers of the Teaching Innovation Practice Award of the National Urban and Rural Planning Discipline Steering Committee of Colleges and Universities, and one of the completers of the Excellent Course of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.
