Research direction: Comprehensive traffic planning; Transportation and land use planning; Planning and design of transportation hub

Zhu Yandong received his master’s degree in transportation planning and management from Tongji University in 2002 and joined the School of Transportation of Southeast University as a teacher in the same year. In 2008, he received a doctor’s degree in transportation engineering from Southeast University (On-the-job). Since 2008, he has been teaching in School of Architecture of Southeast University.

His research mainly focuses on comprehensive transportation planning, transportation and land use planning, planning and design of transportation hub etc. Currently, he is also the director of Professor Zhu Yandong’s studio of the urban planning & design institute of S.E.U, and the director (part-time) of Hefei Traffic Research Center. In terms of course teaching, he is responsible for undergraduate courses Urban and Rural Roads and Traffic Planning I, Urban and Rural Roads and Traffic Planning II, Overall Planning of Territorial Space (traffic part) and graduate courses Planning and Design of Transport Hub. In terms of horizontal scientific research, he has been responsible for and completed more than 100 planning and design of engineering projects, including comprehensive transportation territorial space planning, large-scale transportation hub planning and design, rail transit planning and design, TOD planning and design, special transportation planning, etc. Won 7 national excellent urban and rural planning and design awards and 16 provincial and ministerial awards. In terms of vertical scientific research, he has been responsible for or participated in 6 national scientific research projects, 6 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, and 1 international cooperative scientific research project. Editor-in-chief or co-editor of 4 books and published more than 20 academic papers.
