Research direction: urban modeling and simulation, integration of traffic and land use, smart city big data application

Ma Xiaosu, a doctor who is working as a Lecturer of the Urban Planning Department, School of Architecture, Southeast University, is mainly engaged in the study and teaching of theories and methods associated with urban and traffic planning, urban modeling and simulation and smart city big data.

In recent years, Doctor Ma has led and participated in several scientific research programs funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Jiangsu Provincial Talent Program, etc. He also led or participated in 4 programs funded by Singapore National Research Fund and Hong Kong Public Policy Research Funding Scheme. He has published more than 20 papers, including 3 papers on the world's top journals or at conferences in the discipline. He serves as a special reviewer for several high-level international journals (SCI, SSCI).

Since his working in Southeast University, Doctor Ma has offered three all English or bilingual courses, led the completion of one key project of school level teaching reform, and led the construction of one all English excellent course.

Doctor Ma has led and participated in planning and design for more than 20 engineering projects, and won 4 provincial and ministerial excellent planning and engineering design awards, including 1 first prize of excellent planning and design of the Ministry of Construction, 1 second prize and 1 third prize of excellent engineering design of Jiangsu Province, and 1 third prize of science and technology progress of Jiangsu Province.
