    Zhang Tong is a Design Master of Jiangsu Province, member of Education Committee of International Union of Architects, Deputy Leader of Green Building Theory and Practice Group of China Green Building and Energy-Conservation Committee, Deputy Chairman of Professional Committee of Architectural Creation of Jiangsu Civil Engineering Society, Deputy Chairman of Small Town Construction Branch of Architectural Society of China, and is mainly engaged in architectural design and creation, related theoretical research and teaching.

    He has successively presided over and participated in more than 20 engineering project designs, and won 17 excellent engineering design awards at national, provincial and ministerial levels, including 3 first prizes of Industry Award of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design, 1 first prize of Excellent Architectural Engineering Design of Ministry of Education, 1 gold prize, 1 silver prize of China Architectural Design Award of Architectural Society of China, and 2 first prizes of Excellent Engineering Design of Jiangsu Province. In 2003 and 2006, he was respectively awarded the China Young Architect Award and the Young Architect Award of Architectural Society of China. His design works and teaching achievements have been selected into many international high-level architectural design exhibitions, including Venice International Architecture Biennale in 2010 and 2016, Tokyo Conference of International Union of Architects in 2011: “Chinese Architecture: the Footprints of Progress”, 2014 Durban Conference of International Union of Architects: “Contemporary Chinese Architecture in the Process of Globalization”, etc.

    In recent years, he has presided over a number of major scientific research subjects, such as the National Key Research and Development Program of 13th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the research project of the European Union URBAN-NET. He has published 10 works and more than 40 papers in core journals at home and abroad.
