Driven by the wave of global urbanization and industrialization, the built environment has been at the forefront of change, and also has a profound impact on people's daily activities and sustainable urban development. With the emergence of new trends in society and economy, information technology, ecological environment and other fields, the sustainable development of the built environment in the future faces new challenges and opportunities. How to cope with these trends and create a more resilient and sustainable built environment has become a key issue that scholars at home and abroad urgently need to answer.
This workshop, themed Built Environment Futures, is jointly organized by the School of Architecture at Southeast University and the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne. Experts from the two schools are invited to conduct discussions on this theme. The purpose of this workshop is to discuss the multiple forms and coping strategies of the future built environment under the background of urban sustainable development in different dimensions such as architecture, community and city and from the perspectives of economy, technology and environment. This workshop is also intended to further strengthen the academic exchanges and cooperation between the School of Architecture at Southeast University and the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne.
